Imagine you have planed to throw this big fancy party. You have put a lot of work into this party. You’ve picked out all the food, the theme of the party, and invited so many people you lost count.
But no one showed….

That is the face we would have made if Akiya’s thoughts about this party came true. But Amiya’s thoughts went a little different. Let me explain.
Today we are going to tell you about our 18th birthday and how we planed for it. There was actually a lot of behind the scenes with how we put this whole thing together. And honestly it wasn’t as easy as it should’ve been.
This all started with us being a senior in High School. This was our last year. We felt like this year wasn’t really as good as it has been. Our mom suggested we should throw a party since it was our last year since.
At first, we were against it for a long time. Our birthday is in August during the summer. Second, we felt disadvantaged. We didn’t have half as many contacts as we needed.
And third because of fear and rejection. When everyone throws a party they want it to big! They want tons of people to show up. They want it to look like this.

When tons of people show up for your party it makes you feel special. Like you are the best person in the world. It puts a smile on your face. You know that you threw a party where tons of people showed up and had a good time.
No one wants there party to look like this.

We let fear eat at us till the end of time. We would not have a single thought about that party for months because we feared failure.
We put these fears aside and decided to just go for it. At first it was tough we had to figure a lot of things out in the beginning. What would our theme be? Where would we get all the food? Where would we even have our party!!! Thanks to our mom she helped us plan and set up everything.
We made our fliers and we made an idea on how we would plan this party. As we did this we became stuck. We had no idea how to make tons of people come.

Remember, we didn’t have all the contacts of the people we knew. We didn’t see them on a daily basis to let the party spread through word of mouth. So we had to take matter into our own hands. What would we do?

We decided to airdrop the party to everyone no matter if we knew them or not. But the twist was when Akiya started to feel extreme fear. She chicken out of giving out the fliers and did nothing.
She made about give out all the fliers because she didn’t believe the party would be a success. So Amiya took it upon herself to prove her wrong. She knew this party would be a hit. Whether it was with or without Akiya’s help.
She was going to try.

She first gave these invites to everyone we knew then we worked farther out. With her doing this the party started to reach people we haven’t even talked to. The party reached the whole school!
Now.
The day of the party came and it was time to see how everything turned out with all our promoting.
We set up and early went home to change and came back when our party was starting. We walked into a..
empty room.

What did we do wrong? Why is no one here? As soon as we felt we failed. People started walking in.

WE DID IT!
The party was a success tons of people showed up and we all had a good time.
This lets you know that you should never let your fear get in the way of you achieving your dreams. Even if your scared do it anyway. You will be surprised about your outcome. Always try and never give up no matter how hard something is.
